Our Friendly Clergy and Staff
The next few months will be particularly interesting for St Leonards as we seek a successor for Brian Flower who has returned to his home town of Winnipeg. We welcome the Rev'd Mary Lewis who will be with us while we search. Here is her bio:
The Reverend Mary Lewis received her Bachelor of Arts from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario and spent 19 years working for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation here in Toronto. She went back to study in the Faculty of Divinity at Trinity College and was awarded a Master of Divinity degree in 1995, and a Master of Theology degree in 2000.
In May 1996 Mary was ordained in the Diocese of Toronto and has served seven diverse parishes within the dioceses before her appointment to St Leonard's. She is an Associate of the Sisters of Saint John the Divine, and a member of the Trinity Divinity Alumni Association Executive. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, music, travel and country life.
Anna Claire Swingler and Barbara Ramsay are our Deacons. Anna Claire looks after our visiting program, amongst other things, and Barbara inspires us with her determination and patience.
Rosemary Hendra keeps the Parish Office running smoothly, knows who is who, and how best to go about things. Rosemary works Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 12:30. The Church Office will be closed Christmas week. Mary will be picking up phone messages.
Kevin Docherty, our ever-patient Choir Director takes all comers—if you enjoy singing, then join us at 7:30 on Wednesday evenings in the worship space.
Salvatore Marella keeps our building clean—but he's an early bird, so the shine on the floors tells us he's been around!
Clergy and staff may all be contacted through the Parish Office.
