Tips for Parents

smileyBring a favourite (quiet) toy or comforter, book, colouring or drawing book. Children listen while they play, and then incorporate what they've heard into their play. Bring a snack, too.

sadIf baby is restless, the centre aisle is nice and wide for walking up and down—the chapel, too. If baby or an older child is too restless for your comfort or having 'one of those days', try taking them into the nursery or parish hall (a sidesperson/usher will guide) to see if they will settle down.

cryingIf baby is hungry, breastfeed discretely under a cuddly blanket or sheet, or, for more privacy, pop into the chapel where you will be able to nurse and listen to the service.

heartInclude a grace at mealtimes, prayers of thanksgiving, and prayers for others in their daily routine.
